1. Explore Earth's sky 

What can we see looking up toward the sky? Journey with National Air & Space Museum educators to explore Earth’s sky, and discover how patterns and motions of the Solar System affect our everyday lives. Thursday, Oct. 20

2. Learn about Asian art ceramics 

This online hands-on, artmaking preservation workshop is for ages 3-8. Kids will learn how Smithsonian Asian art conservators care for ceramics and then create their own masterpiece! Register in advance to receive a suggested list of materials for this free class. Saturday, Oct. 22

3. Take part in a guided meditation

A meditation facilitator from the Online Meditation Center will introduce your child to a simple guided meditation that offers the tools they need to have a deeper understanding of themselves. This interactive program is open to all children! Sunday, Oct. 23

4. Compete in a chess tournament 

Elementary school students who know how to play chess are invited to this free virtual tournament hosted by Montgomery County Public Libraries. Space is limited so sign up now! Monday, Oct. 24

5. Create your own monster 

Costumes welcome at this free online event hosted by the New York Public Library! Join in a live, online program with songs, rhymes, and favorite read-aloud books. Librarians will also encourage children to create their own little monsters with materials found around the house. Wednesday, Oct. 26
