There's nothing more fun than themed treats for your next tailgate party. But as busy families we want something that will come together quickly and still taste great, right?
Here are five simple and delicious tailgate treats, ranging from dessert to appetizer to entree. None take more than 20 minutes to make and your fans will love them all!
Football Brownies
Ingredients:
Total Time: Five minutes
Tip: These are super cute and yummy but the shape of a football is odd and you end up with a lot of leftover brownies. You can't cut them too small or they don't come out of the pan easily.
Touchdown Strawberries
Ingredients:
Total time: 15 minutes to make and 2-3 hours to dry and harden
Tip: I love chocolate covered strawberries but I always forget how long the chocolate takes to dry. If possible, leave them in the fridge over night to harden.
End Zone Deviled Eggs
Ingredients:
Cut the eggs in half and remove the yolks. Mash the yolk, mayo, mustard and S & P and fill in the eggs. Cut or rip the chives into small pieces and form the laces onto them.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Tip: These are gone within minutes of making them; so I always double the amount!
Stadium Seating Bean Dip
Ingredients:
Start with the refried beans and fill in 1/4-1/8 of each side of a 13x9 dish. Use guacamole next to make the "field" and fill it in 3/4 to 7/8 full. Lastly pour in the salsa. Put chips on either end for the stands. Put sour cream into a frosting bag (or a Ziploc bag with the corner cut off) and make the marks and lines on the field. If you want you can use cherry tomatoes as players.
Total Time: 10 minutes
Tip: Make sure to start with the re-fried beans first; the salsa will run everywhere. This dish does not travel in the car well; make it on site.
Pigskin Pizza
Ingredients:
Pre-heat your oven to the time specified for your dough. We bought store-made pizza dough and shaped it into a football on a greased pizza sheet. Next it is topping time! We used marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, oregano and basil (fresh from the garden) and olive oil. We brushed the olive oil on the crust to give it a little crunch.
Time: It took us five minutes to make and it was cooked in 12 minutes.
Tip: We used pepperoni to make our football laces but you could use almost any kind of topping that you like.
