Macaroni Kid News!

By Lauren Longworth, Editor and Publisher, Macaroni Kid Santa Fe September 17, 2014
Tonight I had the pleasure of attending my son's open house at Turquoise Trail Charter Elementary School. He chose to leave his home school of several years for a fresh start in 6th grade. When I first learned of the open house, I cringed a bit. I knew we should attend, this being a new school and all, but I remembered open houses of year's past - the overheated, overcrowded gymnasium, with people talking through mics that you can barely understand and the quick tour of that year's classroom. But this was different. The Head Administrator kept his talk to a minimum. Each class had new friends to meet, and engaged teachers to discuss things with. It reminded me that we really put up with a lot of mediocrity in our lives. Thank you to all of my son's teachers for caring, engaging, learning, and helping my son better reach his potential. This is a year for change and renewal.

I wish you all a wonderful Macaroni week.
