Your New Forever Friend is Waiting at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter

Springtime is a great time to adopt.

Springtime is a great time to adopt. Biscuit is a friendly 3 year old Golden Retriever mix. He has a red and cream colored coat and weighs just shy of 80 lbs. He has done well in our shelter playgroups with other dogs of a similar size. Biscuit enjoys walks and does very well on them. If you have a doggie member already, please feel welcome to bring them by for a meet and greet with Biscuit!

Looking for a different kind of pet? Check out Simba (A112940) the ferret. Simba is a 6 year old, neutered male ferret. He was recently surrendered to us by his previous owner. Simba is a very friendly and gentle. Did you know that ferrets make good pets and are happy living alone or with another ferret? They are social animals and often like meeting new people. They are fun, playful, and active. Much like dogs and cats, they will need annual visits to a veterinarian for vaccinations. They also require regular baths and grooming. Ferrets can even be taught to walk on a leash and can be litter trained!

Did you know every dog and cat adoption at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter includes micro-chip, spay / neutering and 30 days of pet insurance? Puppies also come with free puppy classes!
